A Junior High School (JHS) leaver has reportedly committed suicide over his inability to secure admission into Senior High School (SHS).
Daniel Mensah who had aggregate 47 in the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) decided to end his life after he failed to secure admission into any of the SHSs in the country.
A suicide note which was allegedly written by him was found lying beside his lifeless body.
The former student of Mmofraturo JHS in Tarkwa, according to reports decided to end his life after claiming that all his classmates had secured entry into schools.
He wrote the following words in his suicide note:
“Mom, do not think about me anymore. I will kill myself and leave this earth and I can’t stay anymore because I did not got (sic) school. I know the (sic) I did not do well but had 47. Somebody had 47 and the person got school, why me?”
Tarkwa Police Commander, Osei Ababio confirmed the news.
